Further exploration of sorority paddling practices

Having recenty posted information on sorority paddling that was based on first hand accounts, I felt I needed to do additional research to try and further validate what I had said.  While you will never find a sorority web site that states that they paddle pledges or exchange swats when the big sister is given her paddle by her little sister, you can certainly learn a lot by reading the captions they include with their pictures.  I came across more than 100 pictures that demonstrate that sorority paddling is still alive and well.

From the captions and the pictures I learned a lot.  First it seems that most sororities have an activity that is based around the paddle.  There were many pictures that had titles such as “Paddle Party”, “Paddle Initiation”, “Paddle Ritual”, and “Paddle Night”.  Something else of great interest is that it seems that it is a fairly common tradition that on the night that the little sister presents her paddle to her big sister, that the big sister also gives a gift, which is a pillow.  I can only assume why it is that on the same night that one gives a paddle, one receives a pillow.  The two seem a little too closely tied for us not to assume that someone ends up with a sore bottom that requires a pillow for sitting.

Many of the pictures I found clearly showed that a lot of the paddling is done in a fun way and takes place at parties.  Either way, it is clear to me that the paddles you often see on the walls are not just for decorations.  There are literally hundreds of pictures out there of young ladies bending over for swats at a party.

Some of them were clearly part of a activity, initiation, or some formal event.  The captions for these two pictures was “waiting for the pledges”

There is no doubt that both of these are the real thing at an event based around the paddle:

I also find it hard to believe that unless this picture comes from a movie I am unaware of, that these young ladies will not be feeling these paddles before the end of what looks like a very interesting night.  Note that these are not the pretty decorative paddles you generally see, these are very functional paddles:

The next two caught my attention because of the captions.  Both of them esentially described that this was the little sister trying to avoid what she had coming from her big sister.  Based on the size of the paddles, I do not blame them:

The next three all deal with the actual event of the little sister and the big sister exchanging swats during the presentation of the paddle.

This is one of the pillow/paddle exchange events.  The little sister, holding her new pillow, is preparing to take her swat:

The caption for this one was “big sis takes lil’ outside for more room to swing”

In this picture the little sister, now on the floor, just took her swat from the big sister which knocked her to the ground:

The caption of this final picture made it clear that this was not an ornamental paddle.  It read “___________ waits to paddle __________”.  Too bad there was not a picture of the actual paddling, just look at how thick that paddle is:

I have dozens of pictures like these that I will continue to post in the weeks to come.

Tony More! Well! Now I know why my sister blushes when she says she can NOT talk about what "happened" at initiations when she was in a sorority! LOL! She says she's bound by the "code" not to discuss it...even though she has been out of college for 15 years!

*By the way, she has a pillow her big sister gave her! I wonder why.... ~weg~ I'll have to bring it up the next time I see her! I always thought sorority paddling did/does take place. Maybe some of your female readers can further elucidate without providing their names so they don't violate their "codes."

Well, I'm going to be working as an alum for my sorority's corporation board soon... basically a group that oversees the local house. Although this is not the house I went to school at, they are a nice group of kids. I guess I'll find out if it's a tradition at this school. I know it was not at mine. I mentioned previously that I was not paddled at initiation or any other time during my three years in my sorority. Perhaps it's more based on which house/school you're in than what sorority... I'll be sure to let you know if I find out anything, barring of course letting secrets out. Also at my house, it was not the tradition for the little to give the big a paddle but the other way around. I received my paddle from my big, and gave a paddle to each of my two littles. I find it interesting that in all but one or two of the pictures I've seen of sorority paddlings, here and elsewhere, the girls paddled seem to be smiling. There almost never seems to be anyone depicted who appears to be experiencing pain from being paddled. I would think most girls, if they were seriously swatted with the paddles in these picures, would have pained facial expressions not giggly smiles.

Curious.

One of my most intense fantasies is to administer paddlings to a sorority pledge class.

That would be too sweet.

Tom does anyboy know if there real punishment spanking or paddling in soroity. i mean after they are in soroity do big sister spanks paddle little sister for breaking rules like skipping class getting low grades etc As a guy who played in bands in jr/sr high, I remember a party we played in the basement of a private residence in which the host girl's older sister had her sorority paddle displayed on the wall; it naturally came down during the course of the evening and found some resounding "fun" use among the various teen boys/girls. My philosophy on this is, "If it's on display, it's bound to happen sooner or later". Fellow spankos, we can rest assured that 'zillions' of sweet 18/19 yo bottomcheeks have flattened under the impact of those sorority paddles over the years! I don't think many of us could ever get enough of seeing young girls busting one-another's tightly jeaned, pantied, and bared bottoms with the boards, Mr. Masterson... OK, folks. At least some of this *was* real. I seriously doubt there's any serious paddling going on in sorority houses today. The liability is just too high.

Back in the day (mid-seventies for me), however, those big paddles were indeed used to warm girl's posteriors. I know. During my four years in at a sorority house at a large midwestern university, I both swung the paddle and was on the receiving end.

Someone asked what it was like. In truth, it was great fun. There was a lot of kidding throughout. I'm sure that's why the girls in the pictures were smiling and laughing. I know stories depict a sadistic sargeant-at-arms, but it wasn't like that. Nor were there any guys around. Did it hurt to be paddled? Well, yeah, of course it did. But it was an experience I treasure.

I hope that sheds a little light. I too would like to thank you for the exploration into one of my favorite fantasies. I attended college in the mid to late 80's and was very aware of the paddling practices that went on in the hazing process. I was an ear-witness to a paddling when I went to visit my friend and before I knocked I heard harsh chastisement by my friend and then the unmistakable sound of the paddle strike. I did not knock. I waited outside her door until the session was over. The two pledge girls walked out and saw me sitting there. I was amused at how much taller and bigger they were than my friend. I would have paid money to see this tiny girl swinging this paddle with such authority. In an effort to not seem like a perv I made no mention of what I had been listening to for the previous 15 minutes. Hazing was quite common and accepted where I attended university. There was one sorority that was notorious for corporal punishment. They were known as very rough girls, not cute or lady like. They were eventually called on the carpet for their initiation practices. Their were accounts of girls being spanked over the knee with hairbrushes and rulers. Girls made claims to having been punished with belts and switches as well as paddles. Students presented their bruised bottoms as evidence. I definitely do not condone nonconsensual punishment. But as a spanko I couldn't help but find the stories very provacative.
