Slow loads

I recently did an evaluation of my blog and it seems as a result of me placing such large thumbnails, that my page is loading just too slow for my liking.  I know that many of us have fast connections, but the main page of my blog loads slower than almost 90% of all pages on the web.  As a result I am going to play with my thumbnail sizes.  This does not effect the size of the full sized pictures, only the thumbs.  As always, all pictures are clickable for a full res version, but you will see a change as I try to find a balance with the thumbnails.

Are you using gzip compression on the apache end?

(I see from netcraft you are using fedora, and made the assumption that it is running apache. Nginx has different methods)

Hey, your thumbs aren't opening in new windows in fullsizes anymore. Instead, they now open in the same window without a new size. I saw this post and figured I'd let you know. Dunno if that was the desired goal but this points to the contrary, "This does not effect the size of the full sized pictures, only the thumbs. As always, all pictures are clickable for a full res version,"

Again, just thought I would let you know.
