Alt.com

I have been aware of Alt.com for quite some time but neve really gave it a go before.  After someone recommend to me that it might be a good place to find spankers, I finally joined and signed up for a Gold membership.  A couple of things surprised me from the very beginning.  The first is the fact that when you see an Alt ad on a website that lists “singles” in your ara, alt is those banners are actually pulling real profiles from their database.  This means that the people you see on their banners ae really the people with active profiles.  The other thing that I did not expect is the fact that this is a giant community of people.  There are chat rooms for your specific area or kink, there are 1000’s of member’s blogs, there is free video chat you can participate in or just watch.  I logged in this morning and there were more tan 10,000 people online...at 8:00 AM.  I did not think they would evr have much that I was interested in, but it is far more than just a personals site.  Anyone can signup for a free “standard membership”, but that limits what you can do.  People with paid memberships can view your profile and contact you, but you cannot initiate the contact as a free member.  I know ths sounds like one big advertisement, but I fully stand behind any site that I endorse and this site is good.  It is a good mix bewteen MySpace and FaceBook meets spanking and BDSM personals.  So, take a peek there is a lot you can do there for free.  If you like it, upgrade to a paid membership to unlike all of the goodies.

I'm glad that Alt.com is worthwhile with a paid membership. They offer a free membership, and I've joined twice (several years apart) and both times been frustrated with how little the free membership allows me to do. That made me wonder if the entire site was a scam, but I trust your judgment, and am glad to hear it's not.

A number of the spankos I chat with online have tried Fetlife.com. It's free, and more specifically for BDSM and spanking (whereas I'm pretty sure Alt.com is pan-kink -- although, from what you say, Alt.com is probably so big that the BDSM/spanking area of it is bigger than Fetlife). If you're exploring, you might want to give that one a try.

I like them both Michael. Fet Life is everything that I wish my forum had become. I have been active there for a couple of months. I am still working on the ultimate spanking social networking site, I have spent at least 10 hours a week for the last 5 months making it everything that want it to be, but I am jealous of the ones that beat me to it. I guess that will teach me to take 4-5 yeas off.

One thing you should know about Alt is the fact that as a free member, you can earn points through blog post, writing articles, responding to polls, etc. It has taken me six days to earn 1000 points, but this is the number you need to trade in for a free month paid membership. I did earn a lot of points as a result of posting older blog and WSF articles, plus a few pictures, but while I am a paid member, if I wasn't I would have already earned what is needed for a free month at the Silver level. As active as you are you might explore the blog area and the magazine area and you will be on your way to being a free fully active member. Explore the "points" section of your profile and it will give you a graph that shows what you have earned and where you can earn more.

Cheers,
M
