Classic School Paddling video

The Walk

There is an aspect of spanking and corporal punishment that I find adds a lot to a scene, but have been unable to do much of on video, and that is the walk.  There is an extra sense of anticipation and dread that goes along with having to travel in some manner to the location of an upcoming punishment.  It can happen in many forms; being sent to your room to wait for your punishment, being escorted by the spanker to a place that is better suited for a spanking to take place, or even being sent to retrieve the implement to be used on your own bottom.

I think a lot of what I find exciting about this aspect of a spanking is that it once again hits on a couple of things that I like to see in a spanking scene, which are formality and cooperation.  Sitting down and discussing the misbehavior, deciding on the fact that a spanking will be used as the punishment, and then relocating to an area that is ideally suited for a spanking to take place makes it a very formal event.  It is far different than just being angry and pulling the naughty young lady over your knee for a spontaneous spanking.  In that same regards, this process makes the spankee more of a participant in their spanking and helps to create ownership of their offense.  It actually forces them to actively participate in their own spanking.  They are not just going to be spanked; they have to walk themselves to the location that it is going to take place.

Another highly appealing aspect to the walk is the anticipation.  Once you are being sent to the location to be spanked, the decision has already been made.  This is far different than being sent to your room so the problem can be discussed.  This is a situation in which each step you take brings you closer to the moment you dread.  You do not want this to happen, you know your bottom is about to be blistered, but yet you keep placing one foot in front of the other and are assisting in the process of your own punishment.  For me, some of the foundations of what I really find exciting about spanking exist at this very moment.

Spanking is exciting and appealing to me on many levels, and much of it has nothing to do with the actual physical application of the spanking.  For whatever reason, the walk and situations that create a similar dynamic can really make the difference between a good spanking scene and a bad one.  It goes even beyond just being sent to your room to wait for a spanking.  I also find the concept of being escorted to where you are to be spanked quite exciting.  This makes the anticipation instant and there is no doubt that when the destination is reached, the punishment will begin.  It allows those final thoughts of “why did I do that”?  It creates and defines instant dominance and submission when someone is able to grab you by the arm and take you somewhere to bare your bottom and apply physical discipline.

The final situation that falls within this category is being sent to get the implement.  There are very few acts that feel as submissive as actually getting up and going to locate the item that will be the tool used for your discipline.  It is one thing to get spanked with a paddle or a hairbrush, but quite a different thing to go and fetch a paddle or hairbrush to be used on your bottom.  Having to carry the implement gives you that extra moment of dread as you consider what it is going to feel like.  In reality, you could probably just run, but you know it is your actions that created this moment and you are somehow compelled to continue the walk, carrying the tool that is about to be responsible for great pain and discomfort on your bottom.  Once again, before any spanking has even taken place we have created a dynamic that is almost as powerful as the discipline itself.

Unfortunately, with the limitations of a studio shoot, this is often hard to create.  It takes a while to light a scene and get all of the equipment setup in a manner in which it is not visible.  It takes a lot of time and effort to try and add parts to a spanking scene that take place outside of the primary room in which filming is taking place.  We have played with this concept a little, but if the situation was a little easier to capture, I would incorporate it much more often.  So, for all of you consensual adult spankers out there that are looking to add a little flavor to your spanking and discipline sessions, do not underestimate the power of the walk.  I find that anything that the person in trouble has to do to assist with their own punishment can bring a lot to the traditional and formal feel of a spanking.

What is a spanking paddle?

For me, when I think of a paddle that is intended to be used as a disciplinary tool, the implement above is the first thing to pop into my head.  I am sure that whatever your first experience was with a paddle has a lot to do with what you picture when thinking about a paddle.  For me, a paddle being an actual reality, was a concept that was introduced to me when I moved to Texas and I realized that spanking does indeed take place in some school districts.  The paddle above is pretty close to what sat on the desk of the VP every time I was sent to the office in junior high.

It only takes a very basic search online for spanking implements to realize that there are a lot of implements out there that are paddles, that are far different from my own image of a spanking paddle.  When considering writing this post, I was forced to consider what defines a paddle as a paddle.  It is most confusing when you add leather implements into the equation.  At what point does a strip of leather transition from being a strap and technically becomes a paddle?  If a piece of leather is shaped like a paddle, and not a belt, is it now a paddle?  I would have to argue that this is not the case.  I have seen many “prison straps” that seem to have all of the dimensions of a large fraternity paddle, but are clearly still a strap.  My personal thoughts are that it comes down to follow through on the swing.  I feel any implement that can be swung like a belt, in that after the implement makes contact with the bottom that you continue through the swing, is a strap.  A large piece of leather, that has been stiffened enough that you would swing it like a wooden paddle, is therefore a paddle.  When defining implements for scene descriptions online, this is pretty much the thought process behind it.  Within this, I feel there is a category that fits between the two, which is what I would call a slapper.  This is essentially a small leather paddle, that does not really meet the qualifications of a paddle or a strap.

We are quite fortunate with the Internet that there are now tons of new paddle type implements out there for sale.  Over the years people have begun to get very creative is the types of paddles they are creating.  Ten years ago I could only find wooden paddles for sale online, but now they are made of everything you can think of.  At the studio we have a couple of lexan paddles which are quite effective.  As effective as they are, I did not use them much myself for spanking scenes.  The problem with the lexan paddle, is that it does not make for great video.  A lexan paddle hurts far worse than most people can imagine, and as a result, a spanking video with a lexan paddle always seems a little light.  These paddles hit with the same thud as a wooden paddle, but add an incredible sting that you do not expect from a paddle.  I like to film videos in which the spanking seems as hard as the reaction you are getting from the model, and with a lexan paddle, it sometimes appears as though the spankee is acting, while in reality it really does hurt that much. 

I think that heavy leather and rubber makes a good substitute for a wooden paddle because it is less dangerous than using a wooden implement but still has the weight of wood and hits with a similar thud.  A couple of interesting options are the “Frat Bat” from Adam and Gillian’s:

I do not think I am a big fan of the metal backing they use, but a tire tread is certainly as heavy and effective as wood, and probably a little safer.  Cane IAC has come up with an interesting little implement:

Which is a small wooden paddle that straps to your hand.  I have not tried it, but it seems like a great concept and it fixes the problems of the spanker getting a sore hand from a long handspanking.  Here are a few options for you to look at when shopping for spanking paddles:

“A little off the immediate subject, but I was struck by your comment that “it is much easier to find good spanking models than it is to find safe and effective on camera spankers.” Not being in the business I don’t have any direct experience with this but I would assume you’d have plenty of volunteers. What is it that makes it so hard to find people who are “safe and effective"?"

It is a good question, so I thought I would address it as a blog post.  The first answer is yes, there are plenty of volunteers and over the years we have had dozens of people offer to spank for free.  The primary problem I run into is having a spanker that makes the model feel very comfortable.  The main way I gauge how well I am doing on the production side of things is if a model reschedules for another shoot, following her first shoot.  My entire goal with a new model is to make her feel comfortable with everyone involved and to slowly build up trust.  When a model is new, I am generally the only male around for her initial shoots, or there are no males present at all.  Let’s face it, most women find it easier to get naked, on or off camera, in a room with a few girls in it, and not a bunch of guys standing around checking them out.  So the first problem I run into with male spankers, even without the spanking, is if they can conduct themselves in a way that the model does not feel like she is being checked out all the time by the guys in the room.  Let’s face it, many of the models we get are young and beautiful and it takes great restraint from older men to not just leave their jaw hanging open when she strips off all her clothes.  Any sign from a male spanker that he is sexually attracted to the model, quickly creates a level of discomfort.  A young lady is less likely to want to go over the lap of some strange guy for a spanking, if he spent the last minute staring at her ass.  I personally go far out of my way to make sure that this is never the case.  I will illustrate with an example.  There are models that I have spanked dozens of times, have had them fully naked and grabbing their ankles for me, and even had them naked on the bed in the diaper position with their legs spread for a spanking.  But, when the scene is over and it is time for her to change her clothes for the next scene, I leave the room.  I am the person that makes sure that before we shoot a “punishment profile”, that there is a robe in the room to hand to a model the second we stop filming.  Once again, even though she was just fully naked in front of me, I leave the room until she has put her clothes back on.  Not all guys are able to show this kind of restraint.  Can you imagine getting a job at a topless bar as a bouncer and being told that you can’t look at the dancers?

Most guys that want to work as a spanker are not doing it as a career or for the money, they want to spank pretty young bottoms and see beautiful naked girls running around.  I can’t say that I blame them, but I can say it is not good for business when it is clear that they are there because it turns them on.  Someone really into spanking also seems to have a little bit of their own agenda when it comes to doing the spanking.  As spankos, we all have our little twists on the fetish and things that we like to do or see in a video.  Many spankers out there have waited their whole life for an opportunity to spank hot college girls in a role playing situation, and when they finally get the chance they want to enjoy it.  As subtle as it may be, the models pick up very fast on who is enjoying giving them a spanking and it effects how they feel about the situation.  Another good example is the fact that in real life, I love to rub a freshly spanked bottom.  A beautiful, warm, glowing, freshly spanked bottom draped over your knee is truly a wonderful thing.  As a true ass man, and a spanking pervert, there is nothing more appealing to me than the site of a freshly spanked bottom.  What I really want to do at the end of a spanking is rub and squeeze that butt for hours, but you will be hard pressed to find a scene in which I do any rubbing at all.  When an otk scene is stopped for any length of time for lecturing or whatever, you will generally see my hand resting on her lower back, and never her butt.  I believe it goes well beyond personal conduct, in trying to make a model feel comfortable.  It is not just about being a good boy and not acting like a pervert, it is about being able to break the ice and interacting with the model in a way that just makes it all friendly and takes some of the nervousness out of the situation.

It is also very hard to find someone who can deliver basic lines on camera in an authoritative manner.  Personally, I think I suck at it.  I recently read a review of male spankers on a spanking forum, and someone posted that “that long hair guy sucks, I can never hear what he is saying”.  The truth is, if there was someone who could do it even slightly better than me, I would never had appeared on camera in the first place.  I have yet to have anyone apply for a job that has an acting background, and I promise you, it is harder than it seems.  I have had male spankers whose hands were trembling so much, that I had to stop the scene before we even started, just to let them relax and calm down.  The truth is, the spanking is the easy part.  The spanking I can teach, but I cannot teach someone interpersonal communication skills, nor can I teach them to be less excited.  However, with the exception of Coach, I have yet to find a male spanker who actually has the experience and skill as a spanker that he claims to.  Having given a few dozen handspankings in no way makes you qualified to swing a belt, cane, or paddle.  The very hardest part of administering an on camera spanking, to a model who does not enjoy being spanked, is being able to read body language and non-verbal cues.  It is not easy to take a girl who has no desire to be spanked and to guide her through a spanking that leads to tears.  When this has been accomplished, you better be sure you got her there the right way, or you will never see her again.

On top of all of this, you then have to find someone who is willing to appear on the internet on a “porn” site.  No one really makes a living as a spanker, so this means that they have a real job.  Are they willing to risk their current job for this opportunity?  My decision to do this for a living has killed a whole lot of future career paths should I decide to do something different.  The last time we put out an open casting call for male spankers, local to the Denver area, resulted in five interviews.  When all was said and done, we ended up with Mr. King, the only one who came close to having anything remotely resembling what we were looking for.  He showed some promise, but after the thrill of the naked girls bending over for a spanking thing wore off, he seemed to just fade away.  The truth is, it is far more work than you could ever imagine.  It is not just showing up, spanking some girls, and then going home.  We do not script our scenes word for word, we present an outline to the spanker and the spankee and it is the job of the spanker to make the scene work.  Once the spanking begins, there is no redoing it.  Once those cameras start rolling, the spanker is pretty much on their own to make it all work.  There is no yelling “cut” half way through a spanking, expecting that we will start over.  If something unexpected happens, it is the job of the spanker to make it work in the scene.  I have had many people ask how I manage to keep from getting “excited” during a scene.  The simple truth is that with all that is going on and all of the pressure that is on you as a spanker, when the record button is pressed, your biggest focus is on not screwing up and making sure you get good content and keep the model happy.

Spanking groups, clubs, munches

I am curious to know what kind of experiences that people have had with some of the spanking social groups.  Clearly there are many such groups out there, some are very casual and simply meet for dinner once a month, others are as formal as a private club with a high end play space.  It seems some are as organized as to have classes and demonstrations on a regular basis.  To be quite honest, I have never attended anything of the sorts.  While the majority of my spanking experiences have been very public and on camera, I have always viewed spanking as a private event between two people.  The only thing I really thought a group situation would add to a spanking experience, is that of the added embarrassment of being spanked in front of a group.  My only real experience with spanking as a social activity is a couple of parties at Shadow Lane.  My personal feelings on those experiences were that I felt a little goofy at the time.  It felt like a bunch of horny adults sitting around and waiting for the next couple to get the nerve to participate in a spanking.  It all seemed a little forced, the spankings I watched were not all that sexy, nor did they have a sense of punishment to them.  I am sure that my thoughts are skewed a bit in that these parties were, for the most part, a group of people that barely knew each other.  Maybe frequent play with the same social group, over time, adds a bit to the dynamic.  It also may be the fact that at this time, spanking was my full-time job, so watching a group of middle aged couples smack each other’s bottoms, had lost some of its excitement. 

But I do get a sense, from some of the chats I participate in, that a lot of you out there find these social groups and experiences to be quite fun.  Is it that for the first time probably ever, you are in an environment that you can freely discuss your deviant thoughts?  Is it more about meeting people for future spanking fun?  I am very curious to know from those of you out there who go to such events, what do you find appealing about it?  If you are in a long term relationship with your dream spanker or spankee, do you still attend the spanking socials?  If you have a group local to you that you like, and they have a website, please feel free to post the link as a comment.  For those of you in the Denver area, what groups and functions do you like here in the metro area?  I am hoping to gain a little insight into the spanking social scene, so hopefully some of you can help me out.

Mailing Lists?

I just received a comment in which someone accused me of “selling” their address to “snail mail spammers” as a result of them ordering a DVD from Realspankingsfilms.com.  Are you serious?  As someone really out there in the public in regards to spanking, I understand better than most the issue of privacy with this fetish.  For the record, we have never sold, shared, or given anyone any access to any information regarding a membership to one of our sites, as a result of a DVD sale, or any other transaction we have conducted with our customers.  We are legally bound by our terms and conditions, and giving out any information would just be bad for business.  So, whoever you are I suggest you get your affairs in order because if you are receiving things in the mail of an adult nature, your address did not come from us.  I suggest you better investigate your information before blaming me for whatever mail you are receiving.  Do you really get a sense that I make a living by intentionally pissing off my customers?  Are there really companies out there that buy mailing lists from producers of spanking content?  Please, come back to reality if you think that anything you accused me of is factual...give me a break.

Sorority paddling videos?

It occurred to me a few days ago that many of you may find it kind of unusual, that with as much visibility that sorority paddling pictures have on my blog, that I have never filmed a sorority paddling video for any of my sites.  I have spent that last few days wondering myself, why I have never done this.  Obviously, I find the whole concept appealing, or I would not spend so much time finding new sorority paddling pictures to share with you all here.  As is the case with most spanking video producers, it is much easier to find good spanking models than it is to find safe and effective on camera spankers.  As a result of this, many producers end up converting some of their spanking models into spankers as well.  You would think a situation in which we utilize spanking models to spank other spanking models, just screams for some sorority spanking videos.

There are a few variables that have prevented me from filming sorority paddling scenes.  The first is simply safety.  Sorority spanking, for the most part, brings about a single image in my mind, a girl receiving swats from a large wooden paddle.  When we take a spanking model and have her do some actual spanking, rarely do you see her with a wooden paddle in her hand.  I consider a wooden paddle to be an implement in which there is little room for error, and someone generally needs to have a great deal of experience spanking before they are allowed to swing an implement capable of such force.  There are a couple of our spanking models turned spankers, such as Kailee, that I would trust to do a sorority paddling scene, but that is not the norm.  Another factor is that a good swat from a large wooden paddle hurts a lot, and there are not too many models that are up for that challenge.  When we do have the right model for a good paddling, she tends to end up doing a school corporal punishment scene.  With the popularity of the “school swats” series, and any other realistic school paddling type scenes, I guess I have never wanted to miss out on a scene of this type and instead replace it with a sorority paddling scene.

I think the single biggest factor that has prevented the filming of sorority paddling scenes is the fact that I have never really watched one, produced by someone else, that I thought was all that good.  Firm Hand Spanking features many different sorority paddling videos, and as far as a good girl/girl paddling, they have produced some scenes that I enjoy.  There are some hard paddlings and even a few that lead to tears, that they have filmed, but I did not find that the sorority aspects of the scene added anything to it.  The scenes seemed more like two girls playing in private with a large paddle.

In the early days as I was discovering spanking videos, I was initially attracted to some of the sorority paddling videos produced by Nu-West because they added a bit more of the group dynamic that I typically think of when it comes to sorority paddling.  These were not two girl scenes, but involved a group of females being paddled by a women.  While I find some of the movies from Mood Pictures to be a little severe, I have always wished they would produce a sorority video.  Some of their early works with the large scale scenes, and so many women in the movies, are just screaming for a good sorority paddling scenario.  For me, I think this is a necessary dynamic for an effective sorority paddling video.  There needs to be lots of girls, both getting paddled and witnessing the paddling, and the paddle swats need to be fairly serious in nature.  I would love to see the same setup they used for “In the Name of Love II”, but done as a sorority paddling movie.

I think a lot of it boils down to realism.  Let’s face it, for the most part paddlings that take place in a sorority are not really done as a punishment.  For the most part, when an actual paddling takes place in a sorority, it is done in a group situation, there is rarely more than one swat, and the most common use is the exchange of a single swat between the “big sister” and the “little sister”.  As far as I can tell, one girl paddling another girl in private, is very rare, if it happens at all.  This leaves me in a situation of either filming a full scale production with lots of models and extras, or creating a fantasy sorority paddling in which a few girls swing the paddle in private.

This leads me to think that a sorority paddling video might make a good future project for me, but as a full scale DVD release and not just as an update to a site.  You all have been wonderful recently in regards to feedback, so I will once again leave it in your hands.  Is there a scenario, involving just a couple of models, that could make for a good sorority paddling video on a smaller scale?  Is there some dynamic to this type of scene, that you all find appealing, that I am overlooking?  If we have the right model, one that allows a situation that involves a hard paddling with a wooden paddle, is this time better spent on a realistic school paddling scene, or a fantasy sorority paddling scene?  Believe me, I am a huge fan of any scenes that we can build into a series on Realspankings.com, it makes filming more scenes for that series much easier.  But how to I accomplish this without having a whole group of girls present?  Do we make it as simple as having a small room where the “Pledgemaster” brings a naughty pledge for a few good swats?  Here is your chance, help me write a good sorority paddling scene that involves no more than a spanker and two other girls.  I would also be very interested in hearing about any sorority paddling video that you have watched that you felt was great.  Is there one out there?

Bondage, BDSM, and Judicial Punishments

My question for you today is, what role should bondage and BDSM play in a spanking site?  Obviously there are sites out there like Hogtied.com that own the market when it comes to bondage and BDSM, but is there room for this type of content on a pure spanking site?  Over the years I have incorporated bondage into some of our spanking scene.  Sometimes it is as basic as the use of restraints during a hard spanking:

On rare occasions, I have let the spanking take a back seat and made the scene more about traditional bondage, would lots of rope work, and an emphasis on the restraints and general discomfort in areas beyond that of just the bottom:

My personal tastes regarding the use of bondage and restraints on a spanking site, are that of functionality.  I like to use restraints for a spanking scene in which the discipline is hard enough that I know the person being spanked is going to have trouble holding still.  I think this most closely resembles judicial discipline, but it is not something we have done all that much of, mostly because a judicial scene, in reality, tends to be pretty extreme.  But I do feel that bondage makes the most sense on a spanking site for the judicial type scenes:

As the construction at the new studio continues, I can’t help but look around the giant space and find all sorts of areas that would make for fantastic dungeon sets.  So, back to the questions, do you enjoy the occasional BDSM type scene mixed into a spanking site?  Does the bondage need to be functional, serving only the purpose of holding some down for their spanking?  Do you like discipline scenes in which discipline is applied to parts of the body other than the bottom?  Is there a situation in which there are ropes, bondage, discomfort, nudity, etc. in which there is no actual corporal punishment taking place, that you enjoy?
